Spring always makes me think of beautiful blooms, and this invitation is just bursting with large, joyful, purple dahlias to celebrate Katie’s Bat Mitzvah. It was truly such a pleasure designing this invitation with Katie and her mother, and I love that it is bright and youthful, yet completely elegant for such an important occasion.

We carried the dahlias throughout the various invitation and event pieces (which you’ll see soon on our new site!), and we even worked Katie’s name into the wording of the response card!

This is one of those days when what I do is a little extra fun. I just walked through the Los Angeles International Textile Show and am feeling so inspired. So many textures, colors, patterns… I really can’t wait to use some of these beautiful fabrics in some new custom invites!

One fabric trend I am loving is the wonderful ikat fabrics that are popping up in everything from fashion to home decor. I think ikat would also make for a truly stylish fabric wedding invitation.

This one could be perfect for a modern yellow and gray wedding:

I just LOVE the soft colors of this invitation! After looking through dozens of fabrics, I’m so glad the bride chose this beautiful orange and cream printed cotton by Amy Butler for her wedding invitations.

To balance out the pattern on the fabric, we kept the printed invitation simple and elegant. And the light aqua ink and cardstock are the perfect complement to the soft orange in the fabric—so fresh, effortless, and elegant, this invitation always makes me want to smile.

In the world of weddings, we are often thinking several seasons in advance, so here’s a little fabric inspiration for a rustic fall event.

I love the colors in this fabric by Marie Perkins of print & pattern and think the pears add just the right lighthearted touch to be sweet and memorable. The print is also large enough that I keep thinking it would be so amazing to hand stamp the couple’s monogram directly onto the center of one of the pears!

In honor of Sunday’s Academy Awards, I thought I’d share this invitation we made for a housewarming weekend at the Montage Residences in Beverly Hills.

This dramatic black silk trifold enclosure is accented with red satin and a crystal brooch. We kept the printed pieces classic and simple, featuring the couple’s personal monogram.

And to truly top off the feel of old Hollywood glamour, the clients selected some amazing sepia toned photographs to set the tone for the celebration weekend.

This invitation always makes me think of the amazing gowns, the glittery jewels, the carefully coiffed and made up stars on the Oscars red carpet…. Sunday’s going to be fun!
