Eco-Commitment
We believe it is our responsibility to balance beautiful design and craftsmanship with a commitment to minimizing our impact on the environment. One step we are taking is to switch all our standard paper products to 100% post-consumer recycled materials. In addition, our standard printing method uses non-toxic toners, and we can create eco-friendly invitations using a variety of natural fabrics, such as silks, cottons, linens, wools, hemps, and even fabrics made with organically grown fibers. If you are planning an eco-friendly event, we can help you start it off green!
Standard Invitation Package
Our standard invitation package includes:
- Our exclusive fabric enclosure made with your choice of fabric and ribbon accent,
- A coordinated artwork suite, including:
- an invitation
- an event card
- a direction card
- a postage stamped reply card, and
- An outer envelope
Our invitations arrive fully assembled, ready to be addressed and mailed. While this is our standard package, we will work with you to achieve your vision for the perfect invitation. Whether this means adding or subtracting cards or other levels of personalization, we will happily adjust your package according to your needs.
Process
At Blue Magpie, we understand the importance of tailoring your invitation or announcement to your personal style and the style of your event. This is why we start every design process with a detailed conversation. This is an opportunity for you to either tell us exactly what you have in mind or for us to talk through some ideas on the look and feel you want to achieve. Once we get a good feel for your vision, we will send you one complimentary set of swatches to consider and will help you choose the fabric/ribbon/artwork combination that will best pull together your look.
Because a lot of thought goes into the design of our invitations and announcements—which are then made-to-order by hand and sewn—it is best if you can contact us at least six months before your event to begin the design process. To ensure timely delivery, we encourage you to place your order at least six weeks before you plan to send out your invitation or announcement. We ask for a 50% deposit at the time you place your order and the remainder of the balance when your order is complete.
Fabric Choice
During the design process, we will work very closely with you to choose the perfect fabric for your invitation or announcement. We will do our best to find the color and/or pattern you desire, but we are obviously constrained by the color palettes and patterns we are able to find. After our initial consultation, we will send you one complimentary set of three swatches to choose from for your order. In addition, if you have found a fabric you would like to use, please let us know. We are often able to use fabrics sent to us by our clients.
Printing
Our standard invitation and announcement packages are printed by digital press. Please let us know if you would like to explore other printing options, such as letterpress or engraving.
Personalization
At Blue Magpie, we are happy to personalize your invitations and announcements to make them what you envision. In addition to choosing a fabric/ribbon/artwork combination, many of our clients personalize even further by adding embellishments such as colored invitation backings, hang tags, additional ribbons, and crystal accents. We will work with you to create a unique and truly personal look for your special event.
Custom Artwork
Sometimes a client will have particular artwork in mind or perhaps has picked a patterned fabric she would like echoed on the printed cards. We are happy to accommodate such requests and will provide an estimate for custom artwork with your order quote.
Custom Maps
We are available to create custom maps for our invitation clients that match the style and look of the enclosure and artwork they have chosen. We quote custom maps based on their complexity.
Samples
We encourage you to purchase a sample invitation to see and feel a Blue Magpie product for yourself. Samples are available for $20/each and the cost of the sample(s) purchased is applicable to your final order. We regret that we may not have samples on hand for all the invitations we show on our website.
Pricing
Because so much personalization is available, we must quote orders individually. However, to give you a general idea about our pricing, our standard invitations start around $2500 for the folder enclosure and $1800 for the panel enclosure when 100 invitations are ordered. We encourage you to contact us for a more detailed quote as pricing will vary depending on fabric choice, number of cards, embellishments, and the quantity ordered.
