Eco-Commitment
We believe it is our responsibility to balance beautiful design and craftsmanship with a commitment to minimizing our impact on the environment. We have switched all our standard paper products to 100% post-consumer recycled materials, and our standard printing method uses non-toxic toners. In addition, we can create eco-friendly invitations using a variety of natural fabrics, such as silks, cottons, linens, wools, and even fabrics made with organically grown fibers. If you are planning an eco-friendly event, we can help you start it off green!
Invitation Packages
All our invitations include:
- Our exclusive fabric enclosure made with your choice of fabric,
- Your choice of paper pieces featuring our existing artwork suites or a custom design, and
- Our exclusive cardstock outer envelopes custom made to fit our fabric invitations.
Our invitations arrive fully assembled, ready to be addressed and mailed.
Beyond these basic components, there are endless ways to build your perfect invitation. Printing options range from digital press to letterpress, themography, or engraving. The pockets on all our fabric enclosure styles are perfect for holding additional inserts, such as a schedule of events or a custom map and directions. If you have something very particular in mind, we are happy to create custom artwork and/or add other levels of personalization, such as colored cardstock backings, additional ribbons, envelope liners, hang tags, and crystal embellishments!
Pricing
Because so much personalization is available, we need to quote orders individually. However, to give you a general idea of our pricing, our invitation packages start around $2300 for folder enclosures, $1700 for panel enclosures, and $1000 for pocket enclosures when 100 invitations are ordered. We encourage you to contact us for a more detailed quote as pricing will vary depending on fabric choice, number of cards, embellishments, and the quantity ordered.
Process
At Blue Magpie, we understand the importance of tailoring your invitation or announcement to your personal style and the style of your event. This is why we start every design process with a detailed conversation. This is an opportunity for you to either tell us exactly what you have in mind or for us to talk through some ideas on the look and feel you want to achieve. Once we get a good feel for your vision, we will send you one complimentary set of swatches to consider and will help you choose the fabric/ribbon/artwork combination that will best pull together your look.
Because a lot of thought goes into the design of our invitations and announcements—which are then made-to-order by hand and sewn—it is best if you can contact us at least six months before your event to begin the design process. To ensure timely delivery, we encourage you to place your order at least six weeks before you plan to send out your invitation or announcement. We ask for a 50% deposit at the time you place your order and the remainder of the balance when your order is complete.
Samples
We encourage you to purchase a sample invitation to see and feel a Blue Magpie product for yourself. Samples are available for $20/each and the cost of the sample(s) purchased is applicable to your final order. We regret that we may not have samples on hand for all the invitations we show on our website.
Fabric Choice
During the design process, we will work very closely with you to choose the perfect fabric for your invitation or announcement. We will do our best to find the color and/or pattern you desire, but we are obviously limited by the color palettes and patterns we are able to find. After our initial consultation, we will send you one complimentary set of three swatches to choose from for your order. In addition, if you have found a fabric you would like to use, please let us know. We are often able to use fabrics sent to us by our clients.
Printing
Our most popular printing methods are digital flat printing and letterpress, but because all our work is custom, please contact us if you would like a different printing method, such as engraving or thermography, for your invitations.
Custom Artwork
Sometimes a client will have particular artwork in mind or perhaps has picked a patterned fabric she would like echoed on the printed cards. We are happy to accommodate such requests and will provide an estimate for custom artwork with your order quote.
Custom Maps
We are available to create custom maps for our invitation clients that match the style and look of the enclosure and artwork they have chosen. We quote custom maps based on their complexity.
